Home of the Brave Heart Homes for Ban Namkem Villagers
Porntip Bui Nakhirunkanok Simon, returns to Thailand as a judge for the Miss Universe 2005 Pageant. But that is not the only reason for her trip. Also the president of Angels Wings Foundation, she traveled to Tambol Bangnaisee, Ampur Takuapa in Pang-nga yesterday to donate homes to the Tsunami survivors. Bui donated 6 million Baht to the Royal Thai Police earlier this year in order to build 50 homes which have already been completed.
Since her last trip in January, Bui has not been able to erase the haunting memories from all the destruction. “I had to come myself. I have been looking forward to seeing the courageous faces of the many families that will finally have a home once again” Says, Bui.
Angels Wings Foundation donated six million Baht to construct 50 homes for the tsunami survivors. Miraculously, Bui’s homes were the first to be completed. Villagers from Ban Bangnamkem and Ban Bangsak took part in an organized drawing to determine which housing project they will inhabit. Fifty fortunate families received Angels Wings Housing- which Bui named “Home of the Brave Hearts”. She said, “Everyone here is my true hero. Your bravery and perseverance will be forever imprinted in my heart.”
