Loves Children – Bui Porntip Nakhirunkanok Simon, former Miss Universe travels to visit the children in the Tsunami affected areas. Amongst her donations was a playground, which brought on smiles and laughter.
On February 27th, Bui Pornitp Nakhirunkanok Simon, former Miss Universe from Thailand, paid a visit to Phang Nga. Her first stop was to attend a dedication ceremony for a fifty home construction project as well as donate school supplies and playground equipment for the Tsunami victims. Next she traveled to an emergency shelter in Bang Muang to watch a children’s performance, which was hosted by Police Colonel Somsak Kwangsopa, Border Patrol Commissioner.
After the performance, Thai’s sweetheart, Bui, stepped onto the stage and talked to the local people who came by the tens of thousands to give her a warm welcome. “I came here to visit Phang Nga to observe the devastation and to identify worthy projects to further help the local people-especially the children; many which were left orphaned and most without homes. I want to bring hope and be part of a relief effort for the thousands of brave survivors that we have all grown to admire. Your resilience will survive as an example to all of us. Thank you for such a kind and generous welcome,” Bui told the local people.
Bui Porntip also walked and talked graciously with the children and gave out food, drinks and ice cream as well as toys. This is before she presented the elaborate playground that she had shipped down from Bangkok. “They all were very impressed and happy that she was there,” a reporter said.
