I am so proud to have shared such a special moment with the families of our 26 Thai recipients at our very first Angels Wings scholarship awards ceremony, in Los Angeles. This initiative is very dear to my heart, for it wasn’t too long ago that I was just like them growing up as a Thai in Los Angeles. These students remind me of the resilience it takes to grow up in another country and how important the Thai community is to the transition between these two worlds. Without question, the students have the same gratitude I had of having a U.S. education, while rooted in our Thai culture due to our courageous parents. Now as a big sister, I get to support their dreams and congratulate them on their extraordinary journey! Thank you Thai Consul General Tanee Sangrat for joining me in this meaningful celebration.
